It’s been a week, and I can’t stop smiling! I just can’t help it! I had such an amazing time with these fabulous New England Bloggers/TpTers last weekend. It was a lot of work to put together, but I was part of an amazing team. A huge THANK YOU goes out to Vera from The Tutu Teacher, Mary from Adventures in Kindergarten, and Deirdre from A Burst of First. They’re simply the best!
Ever since we set the date and booked the venue, I’ve had butterflies in my stomach! I couldn’t wait to see some of my favorite people, and meet many new faces that share the same passion for teaching and collaborating. The night didn’t disappoint!
It was great to see some familiar faces, like Jodi from The Clutter-Free Classroom, and Sara from The Colorful Apple! It was also fun to meet some new friends, like Furnell from Owl Always Love 2nd Grade, Michaela from Reading Royalty, and Amy from Teach! Sparkle! Smile! I could go on, and on with names, but a picture is said to be worth a thousand words!
With so many amazing ladies joining us, we needed a way to help everyone keep track of faces… since most of us are generally recognized by our blog button! Thankfully, Staples had a good deal going (and I had a gift card!) so some large name badges were purchased, and we designed some helpful cards to include names AND blog buttons. (True Story- I am horrible with names, but great with faces/images…so these name tags were really for me, but I’m happy everyone else seemed to like them too!)
We clipped the name badges to the individual goody bags we had put together for each blogger. These were filled with a bunch of fun gifts from some of our amazing sponsors!
Included was a DVD from the incredible Heidi Songs, a $10 gift card to Educents, a 1-month free Teach Happy membership from Sheila Jane Teaching, a custom clip art set from the talented Nikki of Melonheadz, and an adorable tote bag from GoNoodle!
We also raffled off some great prizes from Kimberly Geswein, Teaching in the Tongass, KP Clipart and Teachers Pay Teachers! We cannot speak highly enough about our sponsors! They were so easy to work with, and so incredibly generous! I think they earned some customers for life!
I can honestly say that this online teacher community is an incredible place. Essentially, a group of strangers connect through a mutual passion, and work together to collaborate and promote one another with the absolute purest of intentions. It’s a special community to be a part of, and I was just pleased as punch to spend an evening with so many of them! I can’t wait to do it on a larger scale in Vegas for the Teachers Pay Teachers conference!
