Meet The Teacher {LINKY}

Hi Everyone! Stephanie from Falling into First is hosting a Meet the Teacher Blogger Linky.  I'm very excited to share a bit about myself, and learn a lot about some of my favorite teacher bloggers out there.

I am a 7th year teacher moving from 1st to 3rd grade this year.  I am very excited about the move, but I am definitely going to miss watching my student's eyes widen when they realize they just read their first book independently! There is something truly magical about first grade.

I teach in an inclusion classroom in a diverse urban neighborhood.  I love my job and can't wait to see what adventures are in store for me this year.

I have been married to the love of my life for three years.  We were married at the Boston Public Library because I LOVE BOOKS and education!

THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS

Singing at the top of my lungs in the car {until I come to a stop light!} Traveling. Binge-watching on Netflix. Playing the piano. The smell of books. Target. Trying new foods. Playing along with Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Swimming. Chewing on ice-cubes {stop judging me!}

IF YOU WEREN'T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?

I cannot believe I am admitting this publicly, but when I was little I REALLY wanted to be the person who played the giant symbols at Boston's July 4th performance of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture.  Only later did I realize that their job description extended to the other 364 days of the year… then I started to look elsewhere.

THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.

Independent.  Driven.  Adventurous.

FINISH THE SENTENCE, "________,  SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!"

"I would love to spend my first few days back from summer break in more teacher trainings… my classroom will set up itself," said no teacher EVER!

Q: IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?

I imagine that Will Ferrell would make for an epic time!

Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?

"There were few goals in life I didn't accomplish… but one was creating a title for this book"

Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?

Flying or Teleporting… it depends if flying required energy!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?

"Be kind whenever possible.  It is always possible."

Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Johnny Cash- Ring of Fire… limited range and words to remember!

 Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?

Night Owl all the way!  I break out the laptop and start creating when the lights go out… nothing a good coffee in the morning can't fix!

Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU'VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?

My math journal prompts series!  It's been my greatest resource for my own classroom because it lasts all year and gives me the most insight into my student's understanding.  It has also proven a great tool for parent-teacher conferences and Child Study Teams.

Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU!

I have an awesome brother and sister!  We are a goofy bunch of red heads and strawberries who love to watch Princess Bride and dance at weddings!

{Wedding photo booths are awesome! I'm in the pirate hat on the left}

Check out the rest of the participating bloggers!
